Abstract

The first three chapters of this book aim to give a sense of how leadership, and the study of it, has evolved over the years — from the earliest writings to the recent past, paying particular attention to the period from the 1940s when studies became more focused and systematic. The remaining chapters look at more modern theories and their use in the development of nursing leadership.
