Abstract

The ten year-period (1986–96) of Vietnam’s economic renovation has been a process of shifting from a bureaucratic command economy into a market one with many sectors. They are state-owned enterprises, joint ventures, domestic and foreign-invested joint ventures, limited companies, and trading households. The socialism-orientated economy has been following a market mechanism under state control.
