Robust Process Design in Simultaneous Engineering (Prorose)

Summary

ProRoSE is a system which ensures structured design of robust, quality-oriented processes in Simultaneous Engineering applications. It is based on a process-structure-matrix developed at the Fraunhofer Institute of Production Technology IPT and permits process quality to be regulated in various degrees of detail. Rough control balances out various interests in terms of content such as, for example, ease of assembly in all internal and external customer-supplier relationships. The fine control identifies detailed requirements stipulated by the process partners (e.g. part dimensions) and balances these in a computer-assisted operation. Both control levels benefit from an information system which records and processes process parameters and ensures that these are available in order to permit various interests to be balanced, thus safeguarding the continuity of the process chain.
