The world of Windows programming is an exciting place to be. Microsoft Visual Basic makes it possible for anyone with a computer who is interested in joining this world to do so. This book provides the link by helping you to get started. This first chapter describes the purpose, approach and conventions used in the book. The chapter introduces the Visual Basic environment and what you will need to start producing working applications.
