Abstract

There are several supporting techniques that are often advocated for conventional design. This chapter examines their application to design based on statistically defined inputs. No attempt will be made to describe these techniques in detail, it being assumed that the reader is familiar with their conventional use. The techniques covered are checklists, FMEA and FTA treated together, and design reviews and design audits, also treated together.
