Abstract
This chapter concerns promises made between freeholders in relation to the use of land. While the law of easements is concerned with one land-owner’s use of another’s land, this chapter is about one land-owner’s direct control over what another does with his own land. Unlike nuisance law, it is concerned with contractual relationships, but — unlike leasehold covenants — here there is no privity of estate.
