Abstract

In the programs that we have considered so far most of the statements in the PROCEDURE DIVISION have been executed in sequence, one after the other. There are several COBOL statements which can cause the sequence to be broken and different groups of statements to be executed depending upon some condition. One statement that we have already seen is SIZE ERROR in arithmetic verbs.
