Abstract

In this chapter we shall review the social cognitive approach to the way in which we perceive other people, including the use of schemata, scripts, prototypes and exemplars. There is a full account in the introduction to this part of the book of social cognition. It may be useful to refer back to it. There is also reference to social cognition in Chapter 22.
