Abstract
When Jesus was asked by his disciples for a special prayer, he gave ‘The Lord’s Prayer’. It has been used by Christians of all denominations and by many non-Christians, and was first known to me in the wording I shall use here. As a prayer, it is best applied inwardly, to day-to-day needs. It has, through its very austerity, ever differing applications and depths. I am not a theologian or a minister, so I shall use a rehearsal precipitated by my mother’s death. The reflections are more coloured by my own cast of mind than by universals. I shall begin by saying a little about my mother, as background.
