Abstract

There is one social security benefit for carers, called Invalid Care Allowance, and some additional help through means-tested social security benefits like Income Support or Housing Benefit. If a benefit is means-tested, how much you receive—or whether you receive anything at all—will depend on your income and savings or, in some cases, the income and savings of your household.
