Abstract

The previous chapter described in general terms the typical instructions and addressing modes provided on microprocessors. In this chapter the facilities provided for two specific microprocessors are considered, namely the 32-bit microprocessor, the 68020, and the single chip microprocessor, the 8051. These were chosen as they are two very different devices, and so give a good indication of the range of typical facilities.
