Abstract
The principles by which slave devices can be interfaced to microprocessors have been described, as have a variety of slave devices. The aim of this chapter is to show how some of these devices can be used in some typical systems, as opposed to the simple idealised system described in chapter 9. Three systems are described, the 8051, the 68020 and the general purpose STE bus. These were chosen as they illustrate three very different systems. The simplest of the three, the 8051, is described first.
