Abstract

The most common two types of printer are

  1. (a)

    matrix printer, in which characters are constructed using a dot matrix (typically 5 × 7, in a 8 × 8 frame);

  2. (b)

    daisy-wheel printer, in which characters are embossed on the ends of spokes radiating from a hub (the entire wheel is rotated until the character required is beneath the printing hammer).
