Abstract

Approximately 40% of these reserves are in the form of crushing bort, with the balance being industrial stones. The world’s reserve base is 1900 million carats, mainly in Australia, Botswana, Russia, South Africa and Zaire. Synthetic industrial diamonds supplement reserves. Continucd exploration is proving the existence of large commercially exploitable deposits of diamond in Canada.
