Abstract
It is unlikely that many people go through life without, at some time, having to borrow money. Even students, with the ‘freezing’ of student grants, are likely to have to finance their studies by means of student loans. Personal money lenders and pawnbrokers may be part of history, but they still exist today, and a whole new world of credit providers has grown up alongside them.
