Alliances of Convenience: July–August 1993

  • Chapter
Civil War in Bosnia 1992–94

Abstract

In July 1993, battlefields in Bosnia were confused by ‘alliances of convenience’ between Croats and Serbs, who sometimes individually fought against Muslim-dominated BDF units, sometimes against each other to hold or gain territory, and sometimes jointly against government troops and their militias. Bosnian Croats continued to receive military aid from Croatia, although this was flatly denied in Zagreb.
