Abstract
For some business people, like Clive Thompson, CEO of Rentokil, commerce is essentially an intellectual exercise. Described as a total rationalist, Thompson is ‘a man with a logical answer to everything’ and someone who believes that every problem can be solved by the application of cool reason. Under his tenure, Rentokil has been transformed into one of the UK’s top performing companies with a market capitalisation of about 2.2 billion sterling.1
