Abstract

One has to be very cautious in using the term “social costs of transformation processes”; the term is abused and deceptive. What does “transformation” mean? What do “costs” mean? And what does “social” mean? We will attempt a brief approach to these terminological problems, not only because they are intellectually interesting, but also because all political thinkers in Poland must cope with them.
