Abstract

The People’s Republic of China is situated in Eastern Asia, bordered by Mongolia and Russia to the North, and by Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and India to the South. The population of the country is approximately 1.2 bln, with 26 per cent resident in urban areas. The country is a socialist state.
