Abstract

Let’s start with the obvious:

  • whatever question you are asked, you should try to answer it.

As a matter of fact, this is easier said than done. The experience of most (I suspect all) examiners is that the majority of students don’t answer questions. The three most common errors are retelling the story, reproducing notes they’ve made in class and reframing the question so that it means something different from what is actually being asked.
