Abstract

In Chapter 6 we found that perception is as much to do with internal mechanisms of the mind as it is to do with events and objects occurring in the environment. It was said that perception is a selective process. In other words, despite all the available information around us we construct meanings and interpretations by processing only certain aspects of what is ‘out there’.
