Abstract
This chapter explores the duty of personal representatives to pay the deceased’s debts, and their rights and duties in respect of testamentary and administration expenses. It also examines the sometimes rather complex rules as to which part of the deceased’s estate should be used for the payments of debts and other liabilities, and any of the pecuniary legacies payable under a will.
