Abstract

At this point you should have a standard in front of you ready to be monitored. You will have an idea of the main monitoring methods that you might use, and some of the problems that may arise. But in practical terms, what do you do next? First, give some thought to deciding which part of the standard you need to monitor.

(The following chapters on monitoring use a modified and simplified version of the audit method currently promoted by the Royal College of Nursing Dynamic Quality Improvement Programme.)
