The subject of limitation deals with the time periods within which a plaintiff must commence his action. A plaintiff who fails to initiate proceedings within the applicable period will be barred from obtaining any remedy. The basis of the current law on limitation is to be found in the Limitation Act 1980, as amended by the Latent Damage Act 1986.
