Abstract
The dictionary defines a transient phenomenon as something which is not durable, and passes away with time. So it is with electrical circuits which contain energy storage elements such as inductors and capacitors. When there is a change in the circuit conditions in these circuits, such as a change in supply voltage or current, the voltage across and the current in the circuit elements changes in a predictable fashion, and it is this we investigate here.
