Abstract
Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis are common health problems that effect changes in balance, posture and mobility in older adults. Some of the most common health problems of older people are related to changes that occur in muscles, bones and joints. The older person is at high risk for falls and fractures. There is often a fine line that distinguishes pathology from the normal changes that come with ageing. The purpose of this chapter is to provide information about musculoskeletal problems of the older person and to assist the nurse in developing nursing diagnoses with possible nursing interventions for the client with these problems.
