Abstract
Three days ago James Drew was busy burning the brush wood that resulted from his work as a landscape gardener. James was a new apprentice to this work and at the age of nineteen sometimes tended to cut corners. The addition of some kerosene, to get the bonfire burning properly, proved a major mistake. James suffered burns to both his arms, the front of his chest and the right side of his face. Luckily the garden owner was present and immediately summoned an ambulance. James was admitted to the hospital burns unit via casualty. James was assessed to have suffered 30 per cent burns of which 15 per cent (his arms) were described as partial thickness.
