From Bulk to Brand

  • Nicolò Polla

Commodity products are those ‘essential’ goods which are part of the consumer’s everyday life. They are the sort of purchase that consumers take entirely for granted. Milk, fruit, pasta, water, bread and petrol are all examples of commodity products. Such products are characterised by the fact that they are used very frequently yet have very little image or personality. Commodity products also tend to be priced extremely competitively.
