Abstract
In this chapter an algorithm is described for selecting one of a list of commands. This was used in the early development of the diagram package for selecting commands, though it has now been superseded by a more powerful, but more complicated, technique. This shows how part of the program can be quickly developed and then replaced by a better method, when time permits.
