Abstract

In this chapter the rest of the analyser is considered. This builds on the lexical analysis and the expression tree structures of the preceding chapters. A full description of such analysis, including considerations of syntax analysis, methods of specifying the syntax, etc., is beyond the scope of this book. Instead, the aim here is to illustrate the basic concepts used in the diagram package, which the user can examine in more detail by studying the program source on the accompanying disk. More details can be found in the various references, Bornat[1], Wirth[2], Gries[3].
