Summary

The paper mainly describes the design of quality assurance system in the environment of computer integrated manufacturing system (CIMS). The quality assurance system discussed in the paper is composed of three modules which are Factory Level Quality Management, Shop Quality Management and Inspection Planning. These three modules belong to MRP—II, CAD / CAM, FMS sub—systems of CIMS. The paper will be focused on the features, the functions, the architecture and the quality information control flowing of the quality system.
