Abstract

The methodology from which teachers may choose ranges through a continuum, from total control by the teacher to total control by the individual student of his or her own learning. Where over the range you, as teacher, choose methodology in relation to retaining control depends on many factors, not least your confidence in yourself and in how far you feel able to trust your students. The table summarises the teacher control/student control continuum.
