Abstract

The objectives of this chapter are for members of the trauma team to understand:

  • the importance of different mechanisms of injury;

  • the importance of pre-hospital information;

  • the causes of life- and limb-threatening injury;

  • the assessment of the patient with a skeletal injury;

  • the management of the patient with a skeletal injury.
