Abstract
This atlas is the first attempt to compile all available maps showing the remaining extent of tropical rain and monsoon forests in the Asia-Pacific region. These maps are a unique assemblage of data from published and unpublished sources, and represent the best information available at the end of 1989. We have consulted specialists from relevant governments and international agencies, as well as numerous individuals with expertise in, and concern for, forest conservation (see ‘Contributors’ and ‘Authorships’ sections).
