Abstract

Professor James Tritten [Tritten, 1990] of the United States Naval Postgraduate School has written a long “thought piece” for US military leaders concerned with their role in the transition to the post-cold war environment. His essay confirms the theses of this book and validates the views I have ascribed to US decision makers. Tritten speaks only for himself, but his citations make clear that his essay is a distillation of beliefs now widely held.1
