Abstract

This chapter describes recent progress in the generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) with emphasis on the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to rapidly clone antibody variable regions. In the first part we review where Mab technology stands. The second part is devoted to experimental results using PCR.
