Part of the book series: In Business Now

Abstract

Labour markets have become increasingly international in recent years, with many professional and business people being recruited to work in other countries. However, labour markets are still mainly national, as most people work in their own country, partly because of the language difficulties in working elsewhere. In each country, there is not just one market for labour, but many thousands. There is a separate market for waitresses, electricians and secretaries — a market, in fact, for every kind of job.
