Abstract

Human beings produce sewage. Sewage is waste carried away by water. The constituents of sewage fall into three groups:
  • domestic waste: faeces and urine bath water water from washing clothes kitchen water

  • industrial waste: the type depends on the local industry, but it may contain heavy metals like mercury, zinc and lead

  • surface water: rain water collected from roads.
