Abstract
In August 1989 fifteen-year-old Seamus Duffy from North Belfast became the eighteenth person to die from wounds inflicted by rubber or plastic bullets fired by the Royal Ulster Constabulary and British army in Northern Ireland. His funeral on 11 August was one of thousands covered by local journalists as part of their routine work over two decades of the ‘troubles’.
