Abstract

Vertical line charts can be used to present other information as well as frequency. They are especially useful if you want to show changes in a variable in great detail. For example, they could be used to show exact changes over a period of time in:

  • exchange rates

  • a firm’s sales

  • the number of shares bought and sold on the Stock Exchange

  • the rate of inflation.
