Abstract

Every sound is caused by something vibrating. For example, when you beat a drum its skin vibrates. When a guitar is played its strings vibrate. These vibrations cause the surrounding air to vibrate, and vibrations in the air cause your eardrums to vibrate — and you hear sounds.
