Thomas G. Masaryk who lived during the years 1850-1937 and headed Czechoslovakia as its first president for the period of 1918-35, was a man of many vocations and achievements. He was a philosopher, sociologist, teacher, journalist, politician, educator of a nation, leader of a revolutionary movement, commander of armies, and statesman.
