Abstract

IDS International Inc. began in 1981 as IDS/Gartmore International Inc., a joint venture between IDS Financial Corporation (IDS) and Gartmore Investment Management Ltd, an international investment adviser with principal offices in London. Peter L. Lamaison, President and Chief Investment Officer of IDS International Inc. was a founding managing director of Gartmore Investment Management Ltd and has been President and Chief Investment Officer of IDS International since the inception of the firm. In 1983 IDS/ Gartmore International became wholly owned by IDS Financial Corporation and changed its name to IDS International Inc. IDS International Inc. was formed expressly to manage international and global institutional accounts for US tax-exempt sponsors.
