Alliance Capital Ltd

Abstract

Alliance Capital Ltd (ACL) was established in 1979. It is the international independently registered subsidiary of Alliance Capital Management LP, New York (ACMLP), which succeeded to the business and substantially all of the operating assets of Alliance Capital Management Corp. in April 1988. Alliance Capital, established and registered with the SEC in 1971, is an independent subsidiary of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the US. In April 1988 Equitable sold 25% of Alliance Capital to the public and 18% to employees, thereby retaining 57%. Alliance Capital now operates as a master limited partnership and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
