Abstract

Some substantial changes to British competition policy have been planned or are under consideration. They have the objective of making good some of the shortcomings of the present system, but they have also been strongly influenced by the need to adapt to the changing climate of international trade, and in particular to past developments in Britain’s relationship with the European Community, and to expected further developments in that relationship.
