Abstract
Some PostScript printers have a very limited number of typefaces, or fonts, as standard. This number can be increased by buying new fonts, either on cartridges which are fitted to the printer, or on disk which are downloaded from a computer. Alternatively, you can design and build your own new font. This chapter shows how a new font can be built from scratch fairly simply, and then used to create a variety of effects.
