Abstract

This chapter introduces arrays, arrays of record, and multi-dimensional arrays and shows how equivalent COBOL data structures may be created and accessed using subscripts. It also introduces the use of the REDEFINES clause for initialisation. The final section, which covers indexing and the SEARCH verb may be omitted on a first reading.
