Abstract

This Case Study was written to be used in a variety of contexts, within the Foundation programmes, PSE programme or part of Humanities/English GCSE course. An emphasis on group work is an important feature and this might necessitate prior preparation of the students to ensure that constructive, supportive groupings are established. Each group will need to consider its approach to working effectively as a group, indeed with some adaption this Case Study could become a vehicle for developing group work skills. The fund-raising beneficiaries could be the subject of a problem-solving/decision-making exercise, which in turn could be delivered in Case Study form. This would require only slight modification to Task 1 of this Case Study. In the original Case Study, the NSPCC was the chosen charity.
