Abstract
In closing the Seminar, I would like to express the College’s gratitude to several individuals. We are greatly indebted to Macmillan, and particularly to Mr Tim Farmiloe, for continued encouragement and support, and to the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences for their continuing financial assistance to the Seminar. I would also, on behalf of everyone present, like to extend thanks to our speakers and discussants. We are very much in your debt for your cooperation and patience. We do realise just what demands we make on you — the pressures of time, inevitably and unfortunately, make the Seminar a much more curtailed exercise than all of us would like. Finally, whatever the realm of uncertainty may be, there is a high probability that we will be holding a Tenth Seminar in due course. Thank you all very much for attending.
