Bleak House

Part of the How to Study Literature book series

Bleak House is well over 300,000 words long. This doesn’t make it the longest novel in English literature by any means, but it does make it a difficult novel for many students. The thing to remember, however, is to set about analysing the novel in exactly the same way as described in the previous chapters. In fact, with a novel as long as Bleak House, it is even more important to proceed step by step with your analysis. As always, the place to start is with the story.
